I shot this in 1982 for BBC TV. It's worryingly prescient in highlighting the route America was heading and has to some extent reached. Directed by Paul Haman

Much of it was filmed in a remote part of the Ozarks. Where we had to ford three streams in two jeeps to reach the encampment where members of ‘The Holy Rod “ sect lived.
 Each night we crew were split up and each put up in one of the log cabins to stay with one of the families where virtually continuous praying was the order of the day except of course when they practised rescuing white folks from cities beleaguered by race riots.
At each morning prayer meeting their leader would chat with God to check that we ,the  BBC , were still OK to collaborate with and luckily each morning a seal of approval would be handed down. 
We all breathed a sight of relief as we headed back out to civilisation intact
